What is Parent Approval?
Parent Approval lets you verify that tasks were actually completed before points are awarded. This is perfect for tasks where you want to check the quality of work or confirm completion.

📋 How It Works
1Enable Approval on a Task
When creating or editing a recurring task in Settings, check the "Requires Parent Approval" box. Tasks requiring approval show a 👨👩👧 badge.
2Earner Submits Task
When an earner completes a task that requires approval, they tap the task button as usual. Instead of getting points immediately, the task shows "Waiting for approval..."
3Review and Approve
When you see the "Tasks Awaiting Your Approval" banner on your dashboard, click "Review Now". For each task, you can Approve ✓ or Reject ✗.
🔥 Streak Protection
We know parents get busy! To protect your earner's streaks:
Streaks use the submission time, not approval time.
If your child submits a task at 8pm Monday but you don't approve until 9am Tuesday, the streak still counts for Monday because that's when they did the work.
This means your earners won't lose their hard-earned streaks just because you were busy and couldn't approve right away.
⏰ Auto-Approve
To prevent forgotten approvals from breaking streaks, you can set an auto-approve timer:
- Never - Always require manual approval
- 4 hours - Good for tasks you check frequently
- 12 hours - Recommended for most families
- 24 hours - Maximum flexibility
If you don't review a task before the deadline, it automatically approves to protect the earner's streak.
