1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:
- Email address (provided directly or via Google OAuth)
- Name (if provided during registration or via Google OAuth)
- Password (hashed; not applicable for Google OAuth users)
- Profile type (family, homeschool, classroom, personal, etc.)
1.2 Earner Information
When you add earners to the system, we collect:
- Earner names (first names or nicknames)
- Ages (if provided)
- Task completions, points, and reward redemptions
- Earner PINs (optional, for earner self-service features)
- Avatars and personalization settings
1.3 Hub and Feature Data
If you use PointWiseSystem Hub features, we collect data you enter including:
- Wishlists and wishlist items
- Care cards (pet/plant care schedules)
- Shopping lists
- Meal plans
- Goals and goal progress
- Routines and routine steps
1.4 Quiz and Onboarding Data
If you complete our onboarding quizzes (habits quiz, chore quiz), we collect:
- Your responses (age ranges, preferences, household information)
- Results used to personalize your experience
1.5 Communication Data
- Phone number (if you opt in to SMS notifications via Twilio)
- Email preferences (marketing opt-in/out status)
1.6 Payment Information
Payment information is processed securely through Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers on our servers. Stripe may collect your name, billing address, and payment method details. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
1.7 Technical and Usage Information
We automatically collect:
- IP address and approximate geographic location (at registration and login, for security and fraud prevention)
- Browser type and device information
- Pages visited and features used (via Google Analytics 4)
- Feature usage events (which features you interact with, to improve the product)
- Login sessions and authentication tokens
- Error logs (for troubleshooting)
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
- Process your subscription payments
- Personalize your experience (quiz-based recommendations, profile-specific features)
- Send you important service updates and notifications (email and SMS if opted in)
- Respond to your support requests
- Measure and analyze usage to improve features
- Detect and prevent fraud or abuse
- Comply with legal obligations
2.1 Administrative Access
To provide customer support and ensure service quality, our authorized administrators may access your account to:
- Troubleshoot technical issues you report
- Investigate and resolve support tickets
- Verify account settings and configurations
- Ensure the Service is functioning correctly for your account
This access is logged, limited to authorized personnel, and used only when necessary to assist you or maintain service quality. We do not access your account for marketing purposes or share your data with third parties as a result of this access.
2.2 Automated Decision-Making and Profiling
When you complete our onboarding quizzes (chore quiz, habits quiz), we use your responses to generate personalized recommendations — for example, age-appropriate task suggestions based on the ages of your kids. This is a limited form of automated profiling. The decisions are not legally consequential and do not produce significant effects on you. You may opt out of personalization by emailing us at support@pointwisesystem.com.
3. Data Storage and Security
3.1 Where We Store Data
Your data is stored on secure Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud servers in the United States.
3.2 Security Measures
We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including:
- Encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest
- Secure authentication with hashed passwords
- Access controls and role-based permissions
- Regular security monitoring
3.3 Data Breach Notification
In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you and applicable authorities as required by law. We will provide notice within 72 hours of becoming aware of a breach affecting EU residents (per GDPR Article 33), and within the timeframes required by applicable US state laws (typically 30 to 60 days). Notices will include the nature of the breach, the data affected, steps we are taking, and recommended actions you can take.
4. Data Sharing and Disclosure
4.1 We Do NOT Sell Your Personal Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for monetary consideration. We do not sell personal information of minors under 16 years of age.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Phone numbers collected for SMS notifications are used solely to deliver account-related messages from PointWiseSystem and are never shared, sold, or used for any other purpose.

We share data with trusted service providers who help us operate the Service:

5. Your Rights and Choices
5.1 Access and Update
You can access and update your information at any time through your account settings.
5.2 Data Export
You can request a copy of your data by contacting us at support@pointwisesystem.com.
5.3 Account Deletion
You can delete your account at any time from the settings page. Upon deletion:
- Your account will be immediately deactivated
- Your data will be permanently deleted within 30 days
- Backups will be purged according to our retention schedule
5.4 Marketing Communications
You can opt out of marketing emails by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email. You can opt out of SMS notifications by replying STOP. Note: We will still send you essential service-related communications (password resets, subscription updates, etc.).
5.5 Opt-Out of Tracking
You can limit tracking by:
- Using your browser's "Do Not Track" setting or Global Privacy Control (GPC)
- Installing browser extensions that block tracking scripts
- Opting out of Google Analytics at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
- Adjusting your ad preferences on Facebook and Pinterest

7. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
PointWiseSystem is designed for adults (18+) to manage point systems. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
7.1 How Our Service Works
- Only adults (parents, guardians, teachers, etc.) can create accounts
- Adults enter and manage all earner information
- We do not collect personal information directly from children under 13
- Children do not have their own accounts or login credentials
- Earner PINs are optional convenience features managed by the parent/guardian
7.2 Earner Information
When adults add earners to the system:
- Only first names or nicknames are required
- Age information is optional and used only for age-appropriate task suggestions
- No email addresses, full birthdates, or other identifying information is collected from children
- Parents/guardians have full control over all earner data
- Parents/guardians can delete earner data at any time
7.3 Parental Rights
Parents and guardians can:
- Review all information entered about their children
- Delete any earner profiles at any time
- Request complete deletion of all data
- Contact us with any concerns at support@pointwisesystem.com
- Refuse to permit further collection or use of their children's information
If you discover unauthorized child access: If you become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information without parental consent — for example, by creating their own account using your information — please contact us immediately at support@pointwisesystem.com. We will take steps to delete the information within 7 days.
8. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).
8.1 Your California Rights
You have the right to:

Our use of Meta Pixel, Pinterest tag, and Google Ads conversion tracking may constitute "sharing" under this definition, as these tools transmit identifiers (such as hashed data or device identifiers) to advertising platforms for measurement purposes.

8.4 How to Exercise Your Rights

We will verify your identity before processing requests. We will respond to verifiable requests within 45 days.
8.5 Authorized Agents
You may designate an authorized agent to submit requests on your behalf. We may require proof of authorization and identity verification.
8.6 Financial Incentives
We may offer promotional discounts (e.g., coupon codes for upgrades). Participation is voluntary and you may opt out at any time. The value of the discount is reasonably related to the value of your data to us.
9. Texas Privacy Rights (TDPSA)
If you are a Texas resident, you have rights under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act (TDPSA), which went into effect July 1, 2024. Denecke Media LLC is a Texas entity and complies with these requirements.
9.1 Your Texas Rights
You have the right to:
- Confirm Processing: Confirm whether we process your personal data
- Access: Obtain a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correct: Correct inaccuracies in your personal data

9.2 Sensitive Personal Data
We do not collect or process sensitive personal data of Texas residents (such as health, biometric, or precise geolocation data) without your consent.
9.3 How to Exercise Your Texas Rights
To submit a request, email us at support@pointwisesystem.com. We will respond within 45 days. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our denial. You may also contact the Texas Attorney General if you believe your rights have been violated.
10. Privacy Rights for Other US States
If you are a resident of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Oregon, Montana, Iowa, Indiana, Tennessee, Delaware, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Rhode Island, Nebraska, or any other US state with a comprehensive privacy law, you may have rights similar to those described in the California and Texas sections above, including the right to access, correct, delete, and opt out of certain processing of your personal data.

11. GDPR Rights (European Users)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
11.0 EU/UK Market Targeting Disclaimer
PointWiseSystem is designed for users in the United States and Canada. We do not actively market our Service in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, and we have not designated an EU representative under Article 27 of the GDPR. If you are an EU/UK/Swiss resident who chooses to use our Service, we will process your data in accordance with applicable GDPR requirements as described in this section.
11.1 Legal Basis for Processing

13. International Users
PointWiseSystem is operated in the United States by Denecke Media LLC. If you access the Service from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and stored in the US. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer.
14. Do Not Track Signals
We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as a valid opt-out of the sale/sharing of personal information under the CCPA/CPRA. Other "Do Not Track" browser signals are not currently uniformly recognized by the industry, but we encourage you to use GPC or our opt-out mechanisms described in Section 8.3.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by:
