What Kids Can Do With Alexa
"Alexa, what are my chores?"
Alexa reads back the list of incomplete tasks for the day. Your kid hears what they need to do without you repeating it for the fourth time.
"Alexa, I finished making my bed."
Alexa marks the task complete and awards the points. The dashboard updates in real time. You'll see it on your phone or the kitchen tablet.
"Alexa, how many points do I have?"
Alexa tells them their current point total. Useful for kids deciding whether they've earned enough to redeem a reward.
Why Voice Works for Kids
Younger kids (ages 4-7) can't always read a screen or navigate an app independently. But they can talk. Voice interaction lets them participate in the system without needing a parent to operate the app for them.
It also removes the "screen before chores" problem. Instead of picking up a tablet to check their tasks (and getting distracted), they ask the Echo in the hallway and get straight to work.
How to Set It Up
- Open the Alexa app on your phone
- Search for the PointWiseSystem skill
- Enable the skill and link your PointWiseSystem account
- Choose which earner profile Alexa responds to (if you have multiple kids)

Parent Controls
If you have Parent Approval enabled on certain tasks, Alexa will mark the task as "pending approval" rather than fully complete. You still get the final say on tasks that need verification.
Voice completions show up in the activity history just like any other completion, so you can see what was marked done via Alexa versus the dashboard.
Works With Any Echo Device
Echo Dot, Echo Show, Echo Pop, Fire TV: any Alexa-enabled device in your home works. The Echo Show displays a visual card with the task list, which helps kids who want to see and hear their chores.
